Job Description:

Morning Meteorologist/Reporter

KPVI-6, the NBC station inPocatello-Idaho Falls, has a full time opening for a Morning Meteorologist-Reporter. Qualified candidates will have experience producing and presenting weathercasts along with some reporting skills.

Weather here is challenge to forecast, as it can change rapidly. We get our share of severe weather, with heavy winds, lightning, hail, flooding, blizzards and the occasional tornado. You’ll have the tools you need with a Weather Company (WSI) Max system, with Storm Tracker, Max Studio and lightning data.

We’re looking for someone who can create accurate, understandable and energetic weathercasts, preferably with a degree in Meteorology. You must have the ability to work well with others and a sense of urgency and immediacy.

Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Salt Lake City and Boise are just a few hours away. Spectacular activities are in every direction, including skiing, hiking, biking, rafting and others.
Idaho is one of the best places to live in the country.

As for reporting, we need someone who can enterprise stories, ask questions and produce compelling news stories and live shots.

This is a great place to work with opportunities and great people. Please send a link to examples of your weathercasts and reporting, along with a cover letter, resume and references to jobs@kpvi.com.
