Weekend Weather Anchor/Reporter

KIFI Local News 8 and KIDK 3 Eyewitness News (NPG of Idaho/VistaWest Media) has an immediate opening for a weekend weather anchor and weekday reporter.

This is perfect position for someone who wants to report and has an interest in weather.  

As part of a team of meteorologists, you will forecast weather conditions for eastern Idaho and western Wyoming.

This person will also be reporting news stories 3 days a week. This includes shooting, writing, editing and presenting stories both on-air and online. You will work with some of the latest digital technology in the market, including Sony XDCAM HD cameras, Adobe Premier editors, ENPS and two live trucks and several LiveU units.

This person will also be using some of the most advanced weather technology from Baron Weather System and its popular VIPIR Radar. Other valuable tools include a neighborhood weather network, sky camera network and will work closely with the area’s National Weather Service.

This person will also be providing weather updates and information for the station website and social media products.

 

Preferred Skills:

Candidates must have a degree in journalism, media, or related field. Prior experience with weather graphics systems, a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, world-wide-web, email and ENPS is a plus, but not required.
