Can you handle live breaking news as well as you can tell a fun, feature story? Want to be live on TV multiple times every hour? Want to be showcased on the station’s top newscast alongside a team of experienced, established, FUN journalists? We have the job for you! 4 News Now in Spokane, Washington is hiring a reporter for our morning news show. This is the perfect job for someone who loves reporting and also wants the flexibility to show some personality on the morning news. You’ll work in a newsroom that values innovation, creativity, teamwork and strong community journalism – and, you’ll do it in a really great place. You'll stretch your journalist legs, reporting alongside our team of dedicated, award-winning journalists in a competitive news market. Spokane is a fantastic, up and coming city with plenty of outdoor recreation to explore. You'll also enjoy working for a family-owned company with a strong history in a city where even the longest commute to work takes less than 20 minutes.


What you’ll do:

  • Plan and execute live and pre-recorded content for our morning news show
  • Work with a photographer in the field to more safely execute live coverage
  • Use creativity and strategy to extend your coverage beyond television and onto digital platforms
  • Use social media to gather and share information
  • Assist online staff in preparing for multi-media stories


What you’ll bring:

  • 4-year degree in journalism or related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a Multi-Media Journalist preferred
  • Videography and non-linear editing experience preferred
  • Proficient at posting content to various websites
  • Good editorial judgment & broad knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws are a must
  • Computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems (iNews)
  • Ability to lift and carry 15 pounds
