Job Description:

Scripps Media Inc, KIVI-TV has the following open full time position:
  Responsible for generating and producing editorial content designed for live and linear programming.  The Content Producer is tasked with writing, producing and editing assigned stories on all national brand platforms.  In some cases, the Content Producer may assist in channel programming.
  ·         Researches and writes stories and segments as assigned
  ·         Brainstorms and pitches compelling and innovating story ideas
  ·         Develops multiple presentation options of assigned stories to deliver nuanced context ensuring all angles of a story are covered
  ·         Produces content for all platforms
  ·         May anchor/host stories and segments for live or linear programming as assigned
  ·         Assist in coverage of major news events or breaking news to ensure high quality consistent community coverage
  ·         Meets or exceeds established deadlines to ensure high-speed, high-quality content delivery
  ·         Perform other duties as needed
  Education & Experience/Certifications
  ·         High School diploma or 2-4 years of experience in related field required
  ·         Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
  ·         Previous video editing experience preferred

  ·         Self-starter, who can independently perform assignments with limited instruction
  ·         Mastery of the theories and applications of professional journalism
  ·         Advanced knowledge of organization's technologies and practices
  ·         Exceptional command of the English language
  ·         Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced newsroom environment
  ·         Ability to accept and thrive under change
  ·         Ability to accept and learn from critical feedback
  ·         A moderate level of mobility is required in expediting work flow processes and procedures
  ·         A relatively high degree of mental acuity and social skills are necessary to successfully interact with coworkers, newsroom supervisors, and the general public, often under time-sensitive conditions
  ·         Must be physically able to sit at a workstation and maintain productivity for upwards of eight (8) hours.
  ·         Travel rarely required
  ·         Overtime, weekend, overnight, shift and holiday work may be required
