Rich Broadcasting is searching for a KID-AM News Director/ Afternoon On-Air Host, who exhibits strong journalistic integrity for its Idaho heritage AM station. As the KID-AM News Director/ Afternoon On-Air Host, you will develop and manage all programming on the station. Ensure that programming serves the needs and interest of the station’s targeted audience and garners sufficient ratings to meet the station’s short- and long-term strategic goals.



  • Protect the Rich Broadcasting brand, create innovative on-air programs and propel the success of the stations in themarket
  • Protect the FCC license of thestation
  • Hire, train and maintain high-performing, effective programmingstaff
  • Manage day to day operations of thestation
  • Work within Operationsbudget
  • Ensure that the station’s programming serves the needs and interests of the targetedaudience
  • Supervise the use of any syndicated and/or outsideservice
  • Work closely with the sales and promotions department to develop marketing opportunities for station to achieve the station’s rating goals, facilitate audience growth and marketpresence
  • Write and produce a 3-hour radio newscast using good business and journalistsense
  • Evaluate and analyze demographic and market research and appropriately implement researchfindings
  • Stay current with all relevant industry practices andinformation
  • Represent Rich Broadcasting in the highest regard within the community and businessenvironment
  • Cultivate community relations to benefit Rich Broadcasting as awhole
  • Work in compliance with all Company policies andprocedures
  • Conduct remote broadcast and station/ client appearances



Work Experience Required

  • A minimum of 3 years of prior reporting/editing/producing/ on-air experience for a radiostation

Skills & Abilities Required

  • Acceptable on-air presence and voicequality
  • Proven management and leadershipqualities
  • Develop and maintain effective communications with both internal and external businesspartners
  • Proven networking abilities in the South Eastern Idaho market and surroundingareas
  • Flexible with hours andweekends

Education Required

  • High schooldiploma

Preferred, But Not Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting or Communications, or equivalentexperience
