About this opportunity:

This is an incredible opportunity that doesn’t come along very often. 4 News Now in Spokane is looking for an experienced journalist to join our morning news team. This is a newsroom that values responsible journalism, innovation and teamwork. You’ll work for a small, family-owned company in a close-knit newsroom where everyone’s voice matters. You’ll work on a new set with an experienced team with ratings momentum, and also stretch your skills to provide local content on streaming platforms. You’ll also have the space and time to tell meaningful, enterprise stories that connect with our community. Our newsroom motto is “take care of the team” - and, we value your life outside of the newsroom as much as we do the time you spend on the air.

What you’ll do:

• Anchor morning newscasts Monday-Friday
• Contribute to the overall execution of news on TV and digital platforms
• Assist news producers in preparing newscast
• Anchor breaking news updates on streaming platforms
• Enterprise impactful news content and tell stories that matter to the community

What you’ll bring:

• 4-year degree with an emphasis in Journalism or equivalent
• Computer literacy, including newsroom computer systems
• Possess strong broadcast and AP style writing skills
• Proficient at posting content to various websites
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
• Strong news judgment
• Minimum four years’ experience as an Anchor or Multi-Media Journalist preferred
