EAS and the General Public

Information for the general public:

We all know this sound and this image.  Even in today’s HD / Plasma / Digital world, it's a signal that even though it's never been used for a real local, region or national threat...we still stop and tune in for a moment.

EAS is administered in Idaho by the State Emergency Communications Committee (SECC) and by four regional “Local area Emergency Communications Committees” (LECCs).  In addition, there are many valuable partners represented by the SECC Advisory Council.  If you have a question or concern about EAS in general, please feel free to contact the chairman of the LECC for your area (see link at left).  If you have a question or concern that is specific to how it was broadcast by your local broadcast station or cable company, please contact them.
